9 I glava je Jefremu Samarija, a Samariji je glava sin Remalijin.
10 I još reče Gospod Ahazu govoreći:
12 A Ahaz reče: Neću iskati, niti ću kušati Gospoda.
12 Y respondió Achâz: No pediré, y no tentaré á Jehová.
14◆ Zato će vam sam Gospod dati znak; eto devojka će zatrudneti i rodiće Sina, i nadenuće Mu ime Emanuilo.
18 I tada će Gospod zazviždati muvama koje su nakraj reka misirskih, i pčelama koje su u zemlji asirskoj;
19 i doći će i popadaće sve u puste doline i u kamene raseline i na sve česte i na svako drvce.
20 Tada će Gospod obrijati britvom zakupljenom ispreko reke, carem asirskim, glavu i dlake po nogama, i bradu svu.
21 I tada ko sačuva kravicu i dve ovce,
21 Y acontecerá en aquel tiempo, que críe un hombre una vaca y dos ovejas;

Why does my Bible say something different?

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).
