1 Potražiše me koji ne pitahu za me; nađoše me koji me ne tražahu; rekoh narodu koji se ne zove mojim imenom: Evo me, evo me.
2 Extendí mis manos todo el día á pueblo rebelde, el cual anda por camino no bueno, en pos de sus pensamientos;
3 Narodu, koji me jednako gnevi u oči, koji prinosi žrtve u vrtovima i kadi na opekama;
3 Pueblo que en mi cara me provoca de continuo á ira, sacrificando en huertos, y ofreciendo perfume sobre ladrillos;
4 Koji sede kod grobova i noće u pećinama, jedu meso svinjsko i supa im je nečista u sudovima;
4 Que se quedan en los sepulcros, y en los desiertos tienen la noche; que comen carne de puerco, y en sus ollas hay caldo de cosas inmundas;
11 A vi, koji ostavljate Gospoda, koji zaboravljate svetu goru moju, koji postavljate sto Gadu i lijete naliv Meniju,
11 Empero vosotros los que dejáis á Jehová, que olvidáis el monte de mi santidad, que ponéis mesa para la Fortuna, y suministráis libaciones para el Destino;
13 Por tanto así dijo el Señor Jehová: He aquí que mis siervos comerán, y vosotros tendréis hambre; he aquí que mis siervos beberán, y vosotros tendréis sed; he aquí que mis siervos se alegrarán, y vosotros seréis avergonzados;
14 Gle, sluge će moje pevati od radosti u srcu, a vi ćete vikati od žalosti u srcu i ridaćete od tuge u duhu.
15 I ostavićete ime svoje izabranima mojim za uklin; i Gospod će te Bog ubiti, a sluge će svoje nazvati drugim imenom.
21 I oni će graditi kuće i sedeće u njima; i sadiće vinograde i ješće rod njihov.
24 I pre nego poviču, ja ću se odazvati; još će govoriti, a ja ću uslišiti.
25 Vuk i jagnje zajedno će pasti, i lav će jesti slamu kao vo; a zmiji će biti hrana prah; neće uditi ni potirati na svoj svetoj gori mojoj, veli Gospod.

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).
