·
2 Радостно пойте Богу, твердыне нашей; восклицайте Богу Иакова;
3 возьмите псалом, дайте тимпан, сладкозвучные гусли с псалтирью;
4 трубите в новомесячие трубою, в определенное время, в день праздника нашего;
81:8 Oye, pueblo mío, y te protestaré. Israel, si me oyeres,
12 Но народ Мой не слушал гласа Моего, и Израиль не покорялся Мне;
81:11 Mas mi pueblo no oyó mi voz, é Israel no me quiso á mí.
81:13 ¡Oh, si me hubiera oído mi pueblo, si en mis caminos hubiera Israel andado!
16 ненавидящие Господа раболепствовали бы им, а их благоденствие продолжалось бы навсегда;

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations). Verse numbers below follow the Hebrew/English numbering: 81.

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).

  1. Commentary Augustine of Hippo, Expositions on the Psalms (Psalm LXXX)

    If perchance things obscure demand the office of an interpreter, those things which are evident ought to require of me the office of a reader. The song here is of the Advent of the Lord and of our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His vineyard.
