LSV Literal Standard Version WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) 1 And the sons of Israel journey and encamp in the plains of Moab beyond the Jordan, [by] Jericho. 1 Y MOVIERON los hijos de Israel, y asentaron en los campos de Moab, de esta parte del Jordán de Jericó.
1 The children of Israel traveled, and encamped in the plains of Moab beyond the Jordan at Jericho.
2 And Balak son of Zippor sees all that Israel has done to the Amorite, 2 Y vió Balac, hijo de Zippor, todo lo que Israel había hecho al Amorrheo.
2 Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites.
3 and Moab is exceedingly afraid of the presence of the people, for it [is] numerous; and Moab is distressed by the presence of the sons of Israel, 3 Y Moab temió mucho á causa del pueblo que era mucho; y angustióse Moab á causa de los hijos de Israel.
3 Moab was very afraid of the people, because they were many. Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel.
4 and Moab says to [the] elderly of Midian, “Now the assembly licks up all that is around us, as the ox licks up the green thing of the field.” And Balak son of Zippor [is] king of Moab at that time, 4 Y dijo Moab á los ancianos de Madián: Ahora lamerá esta gente todos nuestros contornos, como lame el buey la grama del campo. Y Balac, hijo de Zippor, era entonces rey de Moab.
4 Moab said to the elders of Midian, “Now this multitude will lick up all that is around us, as the ox licks up the grass of the field.” Balak the son of Zippor was king of Moab at that time.
5 and he sends messengers to Balaam son of Beor, to Pethor, which [is] by the River of the land of the sons of his people, to call for him, saying, “Behold, a people has come out of Egypt; behold, it has covered the eye of the land, and it is abiding in front of me; 5 Por tanto envió mensajeros á Balaam hijo de Beor, á Pethor, que está junto al río en la tierra de los hijos de su pueblo, para que lo llamasen, diciendo: Un pueblo ha salido de Egipto, y he aquí cubre la haz de la tierra, y habita delante de mí:
5 He sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor, to Pethor, which is by the River, to the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, “Behold, there is a people who came out of Egypt. Behold, they cover the surface of the earth, and they are staying opposite me.
6 and now, come, please curse this people for me, for it [is] mightier than I. It may be I prevail, [and] we strike it, and I cast it out from the land; for I have known that which you bless is blessed, and that which you curse is cursed.” 6 Ven pues ahora, te ruego, maldíceme este pueblo, porque es más fuerte que yo: quizá podré yo herirlo, y echarlo de la tierra: que yo sé que el que tú bendijeres, será bendito, y el que tú maldijeres, será maldito.
6 Please come now therefore, and curse this people for me; for they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall prevail, that we may strike them, and that I may drive them out of the land; for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.”
7 And [the] elderly of Moab and [the] elderly of Midian go with divinations in their hand, and they come to Balaam and speak the words of Balak to him, 7 Y fueron los ancianos de Moab, y los ancianos de Madián, con las dádivas de adivinación en su mano, y llegaron á Balaam, y le dijeron las palabras de Balac.
7 The elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand. They came to Balaam, and spoke to him the words of Balak.
8 and he says to them, “Lodge here tonight, and I have brought you back word, as YHWH speaks to me”; and the princes of Moab abide with Balaam. 8 Y él les dijo: Reposad aquí esta noche, y yo os referiré las palabras, como Jehová me hablare. Así los príncipes de Moab se quedaron con Balaam.
8 He said to them, “Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as Yahweh shall speak to me.” The princes of Moab stayed with Balaam.
9 And God comes to Balaam and says, “Who [are] these men with you?” 9 Y vino Dios á Balaam, y díjole: ¿Qué varones son estos [que están] contigo?
9 God came to Balaam, and said, “Who are these men with you?”
10 And Balaam says to God, “Balak, son of Zippor, king of Moab, has sent to me: 10 Y Balaam respondió á Dios: Balac hijo de Zippor, rey de Moab, ha enviado á mí [diciendo]:
10 Balaam said to God, “Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, has said to me,
11 Behold, the people that is coming out from Egypt and covers the eye of the land—now come, pierce it for me; it may be I am able to fight against it and have cast it out”; 11 He aquí este pueblo que ha salido de Egipto, cubre la haz de la tierra: ven pues ahora, y maldícemelo; quizá podré pelear con él, y echarlo.
11 ‘Behold, the people that has come out of Egypt covers the surface of the earth. Now, come curse them for me. Perhaps I shall be able to fight against them, and shall drive them out.’”
12 and God says to Balaam, “You do not go with them; you do not curse the people, for it [is] blessed.” 12 Entonces dijo Dios á Balaam: No vayas con ellos, ni maldigas al pueblo; porque es bendito.
12 God said to Balaam, “You shall not go with them. You shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.”
13 And Balaam rises in the morning and says to the princes of Balak, “Go to your land, for YHWH is refusing to permit me to go with you”; 13 Así Balaam se levantó por la mañana, y dijo á los príncipes de Balac: Volveos á vuestra tierra, porque Jehová no me quiere dejar ir con vosotros.
13 Balaam rose up in the morning, and said to the princes of Balak, “Go to your land; for Yahweh refuses to permit me to go with you.”
14 and the princes of Moab rise, and come to Balak, and say, “Balaam is refusing to come with us.” 14 Y los príncipes de Moab se levantaron, y vinieron á Balac, y dijeron: Balaam no quiso venir con nosotros.
14 The princes of Moab rose up, and they went to Balak, and said, “Balaam refuses to come with us.”
15 And Balak adds yet to send princes, more numerous and honored than these, 15 Y tornó Balac á enviar otra vez más príncipes, y más honorables que los [otros].
15 Balak again sent princes, more, and more honorable than they.
16 and they come to Balaam and say to him, “Thus said Balak son of Zippor: Please do not be withheld from coming to me, 16 Los cuales vinieron á Balaam, y dijéronle: Así dice Balac, hijo de Zippor: Ruégote que no dejes de venir á mí:
16 They came to Balaam, and said to him, “Balak the son of Zippor says, ‘Please let nothing hinder you from coming to me,
17 for I honor you very greatly, and all that you say to me I do; and come, please pierce this people for me.” 17 Porque sin duda te honraré mucho, y haré todo lo que me dijeres: ven pues ahora, maldíceme á este pueblo.
17 for I will promote you to very great honor, and whatever you say to me I will do. Please come therefore, and curse this people for me.’”
18 And Balaam answers and says to the servants of Balak, “If Balak gives to me the fullness of his house of silver and gold, I am not able to pass over the command of my God YHWH, to do a little or a great thing; 18 Y Balaam respondió, y dijo á los siervos de Balac: Aunque Balac me diese su casa llena de plata y oro, no puedo traspasar la palabra de Jehová mi Dios, para hacer cosa chica ni grande.
18 Balaam answered the servants of Balak, “If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can’t go beyond the word of Yahweh my God, to do less or more.
19 and now, please abide in this [place], you also, tonight, then I know what YHWH is adding to speak with me.” 19 Ruégoos por tanto ahora, que reposéis aquí esta noche, para que yo sepa qué me vuelve á decir Jehová.
19 Now therefore please stay here tonight as well, that I may know what else Yahweh will speak to me.”
20 And God comes to Balaam by night and says to him, “If the men have come to call for you, rise, go with them, and only the thing which I speak to you—do it.” 20 Y vino Dios á Balaam de noche, y díjole: Si vinieren á llamarte hombres, levántate y ve con ellos: empero harás lo que yo te dijere.
20 God came to Balaam at night, and said to him, “If the men have come to call you, rise up, go with them; but only the word which I speak to you, that you shall do.”
21 And Balaam rises in the morning, and saddles his donkey, and goes with the princes of Moab, 21 Así Balaam se levantó por la mañana, y cinchó su asna, y fué con los príncipes de Moab.
21 Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and went with the princes of Moab.
22 and the anger of God burns because he is going, and the Messenger of YHWH stations Himself in the way for an adversary to him, and he is riding on his donkey, and two of his servants [are] with him, 22 Y el furor de Dios se encendió porque él iba; y el ángel de Jehová se puso en el camino por adversario suyo. Iba, pues, él montado sobre su asna, y con él dos mozos suyos.
22 God’s anger burned because he went; and Yahweh’s angel placed himself in the way as an adversary against him. Now he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him.
23 and the donkey sees the Messenger of YHWH standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, and the donkey turns aside out of the way and goes into a field, and Balaam strikes the donkey to turn it aside into the way. 23 Y el asna vió al ángel de Jehová, que estaba en el camino con su espada desnuda en su mano; y apartóse el asna del camino, é iba por el campo. Entonces hirió Balaam al asna para hacerla volver al camino.
23 The donkey saw Yahweh’s angel standing in the way, with his sword drawn in his hand; and the donkey turned out of the path, and went into the field. Balaam struck the donkey, to turn her into the path.
24 And the Messenger of YHWH stands in a narrow path of the vineyards, [with] a wall on this [side] and a wall on that [side], 24 Mas el ángel de Jehová se puso en una senda de viñas [que tenía] pared de una parte y pared de otra.
24 Then Yahweh’s angel stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side.
25 and the donkey sees the Messenger of YHWH, and is pressed to the wall, and presses Balaam’s foot to the wall, and he adds to strike her; 25 Y viendo el asna al ángel de Jehová, pegóse á la pared, y apretó contra la pared el pie de Balaam: y él volvió á herirla.
25 The donkey saw Yahweh’s angel, and she thrust herself to the wall, and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall. He struck her again.
26 and the Messenger of YHWH adds to pass over, and stands in a narrow place where there is no way to turn aside [to] the right or left, 26 Y el ángel de Jehová pasó más allá, y púsose en una angostura, donde no había camino para apartarse ni á diestra ni á siniestra.
26 Yahweh’s angel went further, and stood in a narrow place, where there was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.
27 and the donkey sees the Messenger of YHWH, and crouches under Balaam, and the anger of Balaam burns, and he strikes the donkey with a staff. 27 Y viendo el asna al ángel de Jehová, echóse debajo de Balaam: y enojóse Balaam, é hirió al asna con el palo.
27 The donkey saw Yahweh’s angel, and she lay down under Balaam. Balaam’s anger burned, and he struck the donkey with his staff.
28 And YHWH opens the mouth of the donkey, and she says to Balaam, “What have I done to you that you have struck me these three times?” 28 Entonces Jehová abrió la boca al asna, la cual dijo á Balaam: ¿Qué te he hecho, que me has herido estas tres veces?
28 Yahweh opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?”
29 And Balaam says to the donkey, “Because you have rolled yourself against me; oh that there were a sword in my hand, for now I had slain you”; 29 Y Balaam respondió al asna: Porque te has burlado de mí: ¡ojalá tuviera espada en mi mano, que ahora te mataría!
29 Balaam said to the donkey, “Because you have mocked me, I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would have killed you.”
30 and the donkey says to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden since [I became] yours, even to this day? Have I at all been accustomed to do thus to you?” And he says, “No.” 30 Y el asna dijo á Balaam: ¿No soy yo tu asna? sobre mí has cabalgado desde que tú me tienes hasta este día; ¿he acostumbrado á hacerlo así contigo? Y él respondió: No.
30 The donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey, on which you have ridden all your life long until today? Was I ever in the habit of doing so to you?” He said, “No.”
31 And YHWH uncovers the eyes of Balaam, and he sees the Messenger of YHWH standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, and he bows and pays respect, to his face; 31 Entonces Jehová abrió los ojos á Balaam, y vió al ángel de Jehová que estaba en el camino, y [tenía] su espada desnuda en su mano. Y [Balaam] hizo reverencia, é inclinóse sobre su rostro.
31 Then Yahweh opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw Yahweh’s angel standing in the way, with his sword drawn in his hand; and he bowed his head, and fell on his face.
32 and the Messenger of YHWH says to him, “Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out for an adversary, for [your] way has been perverse before Me, 32 Y el ángel de Jehová le dijo: ¿Por qué has herido tu asna estas tres veces? he aquí yo he salido para contrarrestarte, porque tu camino es perverso delante de mí:
32 Yahweh’s angel said to him, “Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out as an adversary, because your way is perverse before me.
33 and the donkey sees Me and turns aside at My presence these three times; unless she had turned aside from My presence, surely I had also slain you now, and kept her alive.” 33 El asna me ha visto, y hase apartado luego de delante de mí estas tres veces: y si de mí no se hubiera apartado, yo también ahora te mataría á ti, y á ella dejaría viva.
33 The donkey saw me, and turned away before me these three times. Unless she had turned away from me, surely now I would have killed you, and saved her alive.”
34 And Balaam says to the Messenger of YHWH, “I have sinned, for I did not know that You [are] standing to meet me in the way; and now, if [it is] evil in Your eyes, I turn back by myself.” 34 Entonces Balaam dijo al ángel de Jehová: He pecado, que no sabía que tú te ponías delante de mí en el camino: mas ahora, si te parece mal, yo me volveré.
34 Balaam said to Yahweh’s angel, “I have sinned; for I didn’t know that you stood in the way against me. Now therefore, if it displeases you, I will go back again.”
35 And the Messenger of YHWH says to Balaam, “Go with the men; and only the word which I speak to you—it you speak”; and Balaam goes with the princes of Balak. 35 Y el ángel de Jehová dijo á Balaam: Ve con esos hombres: empero la palabra que yo te dijere, esa hablarás. Así Balaam fué con los príncipes de Balac.
35 Yahweh’s angel said to Balaam, “Go with the men; but you shall only speak the word that I shall speak to you.” So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.
36 And Balak hears that Balaam has come, and goes out to meet him, to a city of Moab, which [is] on the border of Arnon, which [is] in the extremity of the border; 36 Y oyendo Balac que Balaam venía, salió á recibirlo á la ciudad de Moab, que está junto al término de Arnón, que es el cabo de los confines.
36 When Balak heard that Balaam had come, he went out to meet him to the City of Moab, which is on the border of the Arnon, which is in the utmost part of the border.
37 and Balak says to Balaam, “Did I not diligently send to you to call for you? Why did you not come to me? Am I not truly able to honor you?” 37 Y Balac dijo á Balaam: ¿No envié yo á ti á llamarte? ¿por qué no has venido á mí? ¿no puedo yo honrarte?
37 Balak said to Balaam, “Didn’t I earnestly send for you to summon you? Why didn’t you come to me? Am I not able indeed to promote you to honor?”
38 And Balaam says to Balak, “Behold, I have come to you; now, am I able to speak anything at all? The word which God sets in my mouth—it I speak.” 38 Y Balaam respondió á Balac: He aquí yo he venido á ti: mas ¿podré ahora hablar alguna cosa? La palabra que Dios pusiere en mi boca, esa hablaré.
38 Balaam said to Balak, “Behold, I have come to you. Have I now any power at all to speak anything? I will speak the word that God puts in my mouth.”
39 And Balaam goes with Balak, and they come to Kirjath-Huzoth, 39 Y fué Balaam con Balac, y vinieron á la ciudad de Husoth.
39 Balaam went with Balak, and they came to Kiriath Huzoth.
40 and Balak sacrifices oxen and sheep, and sends [some] to Balaam and to the princes who [are] with him; 40 Y Balac hizo matar bueyes y ovejas, y envió á Balaam, y á los príncipes que estaban con él.
40 Balak sacrificed cattle and sheep, and sent to Balaam, and to the princes who were with him.
41 and it comes to pass in the morning, that Balak takes Balaam and causes him to go up [to] the high places of Ba‘al, and he sees the extremity of the people from there. 41 Y el día siguiente Balac tomó á Balaam, é hízolo subir á los altos de Baal, y desde allí vió la extremidad del pueblo.
41 In the morning, Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal; and he saw from there part of the people.
