Vamvas Modern Greek Bible: Vamvas (1850)
RV1909 Reina-Valera 1909
4 Y le preguntó otra vez Pilato, diciendo: ¿No respondes algo? Mira de cuántas cosas te acusan.
9 Ο δε Πιλάτος απεκρίθη προς αυτούς, λέγων· Θέλετε να σας απολύσω τον βασιλέα των Ιουδαίων;
12 Και ο Πιλάτος αποκριθείς πάλιν, είπε προς αυτούς· Τι λοιπόν θέλετε να κάμω τούτον, τον οποίον λέγετε βασιλέα των Ιουδαίων;
13 Y ellos volvieron á dar voces: Crucifícale.
34 και την ώραν την εννάτην εβόησεν ο Ιησούς μετά φωνής μεγάλης, λέγων· Ελωΐ, Ελωΐ, λαμά σαβαχθανί; το οποίον μεθερμηνευόμενον είναι, Θεέ μου, Θεέ μου, διά τι με εγκατέλιπες;
37 Mas Jesús, dando una grande voz, espiró.
40 Y también estaban [algunas] mujeres mirando de lejos; entre las cuales estaba María Magdalena, y María la madre de Jacobo el menor y de José, y Salomé;

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).
