1 Congregatus est igitur omnis Israël ad David in Hebron, dicens: Os tuum sumus, et caro tua.
1 ENTONCES todo Israel se juntó á David en Hebrón, diciendo: He aquí nosotros somos tu hueso y tu carne.
1 Then all Israel gathered themselves to David to Hebron, saying, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.
2 Heri quoque et nudiustertius cum adhuc regnaret Saul, tu eras qui educebas et introducebas Israël: tibi enim dixit Dominus Deus tuus: Tu pasces populum meum Israël, et tu eris princeps super eum.
2 Y además antes de ahora, aun mientras Saúl reinaba, tú sacabas y metías á Israel. También Jehová tu Dios te ha dicho: Tú apacentarás mi pueblo Israel, y tú serás príncipe sobre Israel mi pueblo.
2 In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. Yahweh your God said to you, ‘You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over my people Israel.’”
3 Venerunt ergo omnes majores natu Israël ad regem in Hebron, et iniit David cum eis fœdus coram Domino: unxeruntque eum regem super Israël, juxta sermonem Domini quem locutus est in manu Samuel.
3 Y vinieron todos los ancianos de Israel al rey en Hebrón, y David hizo con ellos alianza delante de Jehová; y ungieron á David por rey sobre Israel, conforme á la palabra de Jehová por mano de Samuel.
3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh. They anointed David king over Israel, according to Yahweh’s word by Samuel.
4 Abiit quoque David et omnis Israël in Jerusalem: hæc est Jebus, ubi erant Jebusæi habitatores terræ.
4 Entonces se fué David con todo Israel á Jerusalem, la cual es Jebus; y allí era el Jebuseo habitador de aquella tierra.
4 David and all Israel went to Jerusalem (also called Jebus); and the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were there.
5 Dixeruntque qui habitabant in Jebus ad David: Non ingredieris huc. Porro David cepit arcem Sion, quæ est civitas David,
5 Y los moradores de Jebus dijeron á David: No entrarás acá. Mas David tomó la fortaleza de Sión, que es la ciudad de David.
5 The inhabitants of Jebus said to David, “You will not come in here!” Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. The same is David’s city.
6 dixitque: Omnis qui percusserit Jebusæum in primis, erit princeps et dux. Ascendit igitur primus Joab filius Sarviæ, et factus est princeps.
6 Y David había dicho: El que primero hiriere al Jebuseo, será cabeza y jefe. Entonces Joab hijo de Sarvia subió el primero, y fué hecho jefe.
6 David had said, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain.” Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and was made chief.
7 Habitavit autem David in arce, et idcirco appellata est civitas David.
7 Y David habitó en la fortaleza, y por esto le llamaron la ciudad de David.
7 David lived in the stronghold; therefore they called it David’s city.
8 Ædificavitque urbem in circuitu a Mello usque ad gyrum; Joab autem reliqua urbis exstruxit.
8 Y edificó la ciudad alrededor, desde Millo hasta la cerca: y Joab reparó el resto de la ciudad.
8 He built the city all around, from Millo even around; and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
9 Proficiebatque David vadens et crescens, et Dominus exercituum erat cum eo.
9 Y David iba adelantando y creciendo, y Jehová de los ejércitos era con él.
9 David grew greater and greater, for Yahweh of Armies was with him.
10 Hi principes virorum fortium David, qui adjuverunt eum ut rex fieret super omnem Israël, juxta verbum Domini quod locutus est ad Israël.
10 Estos son los principales de los valientes que David tuvo, y los que le ayudaron en su reino, con todo Israel, para hacerle rey sobre Israel, conforme á la palabra de Jehová.
10 Now these are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who showed themselves strong with him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to Yahweh’s word concerning Israel.
11 Et iste numerus robustorum David: Jesbaam filius Hachamoni princeps inter triginta: iste levavit hastam suam super trecentos vulneratos una vice.
11 Y este es el número de los valientes que David tuvo: Jasobam hijo de Hachmoni, caudillo de los treinta, el cual blandió su lanza una vez contra trescientos, á los cuales mató.
11 This is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, the chief of the thirty; he lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them at one time.
12 Et post eum Eleazar filius patrui ejus Ahohites, qui erat inter tres potentes.
12 Tras de éste fué Eleazar hijo de Dodo, Ahohita, el cual era de los tres valientes.
12 After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.
13 Iste fuit cum David in Phesdomim, quando Philisthiim congregati sunt ad locum illum in prælium: et erat ager regionis illius plenus hordeo, fugeratque populus a facie Philisthinorum.
13 Este estuvo con David en Pasdammin, estando allí juntos en batalla los Filisteos: y había [allí] una suerte de tierra llena de cebada, y huyendo el pueblo delante de los Filisteos,
13 He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where there was a plot of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.
14 Hi steterunt in medio agri, et defenderunt eum: cumque percussissent Philisthæos, dedit Dominus salutem magnam populo suo.
14 Pusiéronse ellos en medio de la haza, y la defendieron, y vencieron á los Filisteos; y favoreciólos Jehová con grande salvamento.
14 They stood in the middle of the plot, defended it, and killed the Philistines; and Yahweh saved them by a great victory.
15 Descenderunt autem tres de triginta principibus ad petram, in qua erat David, ad speluncam Odollam, quando Philisthiim fuerant castrametati in valle Raphaim.
15 Y tres de los treinta principales descendieron á la peña á David, á la cueva de Adullam, estando el campo de los Filisteos en el valle de Raphaim.
15 Three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the army of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
16 Porro David erat in præsidio, et statio Philisthinorum in Bethlehem.
16 Y David estaba entonces en la fortaleza, y había á la sazón guarnición de Filisteos en Beth-lehem.
16 David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was in Bethlehem at that time.
17 Desideravit igitur David, et dixit: O si quis daret mihi aquam de cisterna Bethlehem, quæ est in porta !
17 David deseó entonces, y dijo: ¡Quién me diera á beber de las aguas del pozo de Beth-lehem, que está á la puerta!
17 David longed, and said, “Oh, that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!”
18 Tres ergo isti per media castra Philisthinorum perrexerunt, et hauserunt aquam de cisterna Bethlehem quæ erat in porta, et attulerunt ad David ut biberet. Qui noluit, sed magis libavit illam Domino,
18 Y aquellos tres rompieron por el campo de los Filisteos, y sacaron agua del pozo de Beth-lehem, que está á la puerta, y tomaron y trajéronla á David: mas él no la quiso beber, sino que la derramó á Jehová, y dijo:
18 The three broke through the army of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, took it, and brought it to David; but David would not drink any of it, but poured it out to Yahweh,
19 dicens: Absit ut in conspectu Dei mei hoc faciam, et sanguinem istorum virorum bibam: quia in periculo animarum suarum attulerunt mihi aquam. Et ob hanc causam noluit bibere: hæc fecerunt tres robustissimi.
19 Guárdeme mi Dios de hacer esto: ¿había yo de beber la sangre de estos varones con sus vidas, que con [peligro de] sus vidas la han traído? Y no la quiso beber. Esto hicieron aquellos tres valientes.
19 and said, “My God forbid me, that I should do this! Shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy?” For they risked their lives to bring it. Therefore he would not drink it. The three mighty men did these things.
20 Abisai quoque frater Joab ipse erat princeps trium, et ipse levavit hastam suam contra trecentos vulneratos, et ipse erat inter tres nominatissimus,
20 Y Abisai, hermano de Joab, era cabeza de los tres, el cual blandió su lanza sobre trescientos, á los cuales hirió; y fué entre los tres nombrado.
20 Abishai, the brother of Joab, was chief of the three; for he lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them, and had a name among the three.
21 et inter tres secundos inclytus, et princeps eorum: verumtamen usque ad tres primos non pervenerat.
21 De los tres fué más ilustre que los [otros] dos, y fué el principal de ellos: mas no llegó á los tres [primeros].
21 Of the three, he was more honorable than the two, and was made their captain; however he wasn’t included in the three.
22 Banaias filius Jojadæ viri robustissimi, qui multa opera perpetrarat, de Cabseel: ipse percussit duos ariel Moab, et ipse descendit et interfecit leonem in media cisterna tempore nivis.
22 Benaías hijo de Joiada, hijo de varón de esfuerzo, de grandes hechos, de Cabseel: él venció los dos leones de Moab: también descendió, é hirió un león en mitad de un foso en tiempo de nieve.
22 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab. He also went down and killed a lion in the middle of a pit on a snowy day.
23 Et ipse percussit virum ægyptium, cujus statura erat quinque cubitorum, et habebat lanceam ut liciatorium texentium: descendit igitur ad eum cum virga, et rapuit hastam quam tenebat manu, et interfecit eum hasta sua.
23 El mismo venció á un Egipcio, hombre de cinco codos de estatura: y el Egipcio traía una lanza como un enjullo de tejedor; mas él descendió á él con un bastón, y arrebató al Egipcio la lanza de la mano, y matólo con su misma lanza.
23 He killed an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high. In the Egyptian’s hand was a spear like a weaver’s beam; and he went down to him with a staff, plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and killed him with his own spear.
24 Hæc fecit Banaias filius Jojadæ, qui erat inter tres robustos nominatissimus,
24 Esto hizo Benaías hijo de Joiada, y fué nombrado entre los tres valientes.
24 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did these things and had a name among the three mighty men.
25 inter triginta primus, verumtamen ad tres usque non pervenerat: posuit autem eum David ad auriculam suam.
25 Y fué el más honrado de los treinta, mas no llegó á los tres [primeros]. A éste puso David en su consejo.
25 Behold, he was more honorable than the thirty, but he didn’t attain to the three; and David set him over his guard.
26 Porro fortissimi viri in exercitu, Asahel frater Joab, et Elchanan filius patrui ejus de Bethlehem,
26 Y los valientes de los ejércitos: Asael hermano de Joab, y Elchânan hijo de Dodo de Beth-lehem;
26 The mighty men of the armies also include Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
