- Psalms are numbered as in the Septuagint (Psalm 50 = Psalm 51 in English Bibles); verse numbers follow the Russian Synodal Bible, where a psalm's title is verse 1 (or 1–2).
- Psalms 13, 71, 92, 127 and 129 divide their verses differently from the Russian Synodal Bible, so a few verse numbers there do not match it; the line "The songs of David, son of Jesse, are ended" opens Psalm 72 (with its title) instead of closing Psalm 71.
- Church Slavonic in its traditional (Synodal) spelling, with accents, breathings and titlo abbreviations, shown in the Ponomar font (SIL Open Font License).

I do not contend in judgment with Thee, who art the Truth; and I would not deceive myself, lest my iniquity lie against itself. I do not, therefore, contend in judgment with Thee, for "if Thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?" Chapter VI — He Describes His Infancy, and Lauds the Protection and Eternal Providence of… …

And David prophesying of both these, said plainly of the first which was rejected, I have hated the Congregation of evil doers; but of the second which is built up he says in the same Psalm, Lord, I have loved the beauty of Thine house; and immediately afterwards, In the Congregations will I bless thee, O Lord.

And I, though I both say and perceive this, impede my course with such beauties, but Thou dost rescue me, O Lord, Thou dost rescue me; "for Thy loving-kindness is before mine eyes." For I am taken miserably, and Thou rescuest me mercifully; sometimes not perceiving it, in that I had come upon them hesitatingly; at other times with pain, …

Didst thou not hear the blessed David opening this very mystery, and saying, I will wash my hands in innocency, and so will compass Thine Altar, O Lord?
